- Joy is a rebellion
Joy is a rebellion
(and your marketing can be too)
Some days it feels like opening any news app or social network requires a deeeeep breath and a strong coffee. The world is heavy, chaotic, and straight-up overwhelming.
And you know what? It’s OKAY to acknowledge that. It’s okay to feel it.
But here's something I realized recently while journaling: staying miserable, feeling stuck, believing we're powerless... that's exactly what the systems want. They want us too exhausted to dream bigger. Too overwhelmed to take action.
And that's exactly why joy isn't just an emotion - it's an act of rebellion.
When the world feels like it's falling apart, choosing joy, choosing to show up, choosing to keep building your dream business or life... that's a radical act.
This isn't about toxic positivity or ignoring what's happening. It's about recognizing that you can hold space for both - the heaviness AND the hope. The grief AND the growth. The chaos AND the creativity.
(That’s a note to self as much as to you. I’ve been a rotting loaf since inauguration…)
So how does this translate to your marketing?
It means:
Leading with empathy, not exploitation
Creating content that adds value, not noise
Building genuine connections, not just chasing metrics
Showing up authentically, even (especially) when it feels hard
Your marketing doesn't have to be perfect right now. It just has to be real.
Your audience isn't looking for another perfectly polished highlight reel. They're looking for connection. For understanding. For someone who gets it.
And you know what? That's actually liberating. Because it means you can drop the pressure to be "on" all the time. You can market your business in a way that feels aligned with where you're at right now.
Sometimes that might mean sharing your struggles alongside your successes. Sometimes it might mean taking a beat to check in with your community. And sometimes it might mean celebrating the small wins extra hard - because right now, they feel extra important.
Here's your permission slip to market your business with both empathy AND joy. To recognize that bringing value to your audience, helping them solve their problems, making their lives a little better - that's an act of service. And right now, we need more of that.
Keep showing up. Keep serving. Keep finding those pockets of joy.
Choosing to find joy with you…

On a Personal Note -
Watch: Currently we’re subscribed to Apple TV and my husband and I are watching Severance Season 2
Read: Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros (and it’s sooo freaking good!)
Travel: Eat: No travel is currently scheduled (I know… I’m sad about it too!) but we’ve eaten some really delicious meals. Most recently, my husband made this and it was so good!
