It's going to get complicated tbh...

Is it just me, or did 2024 feel like it happened in fast-forward? 🏃‍♀️

As we're wrapping up this wild ride of a year, I've been doing some serious thinking about what's coming up in 2025 for marketing and small businesses like yours. And let me tell you – some of these trends are making me seriously excited (and others... well, let's just say I have thoughts 😏). And after recording a podcast episode about this yesterday (which you can catch here), I want to share what's actually going down.

Here's what nobody else is talking about:

  1. Pain point marketing is OUT, trigger point marketing is IN. Instead of poking at general pain points, we're diving deeper into what actually triggers someone to take action. Think: what specific life event made them ready to invest? (Like getting injured and needing a trainer who understands complex pain, or suddenly needing to revamp their LinkedIn after a career shift.)

  2. Community identity is about to have its main character moment. Think less "target audience" and more "Swifties" level of belonging. We're all tired of the internet's general... everything... and people are craving real connection.

  3. Plot twist: Low-ticket services are going to be a big thing. We've seen the digital product boom, but thanks to AI streamlining our workflows, one-off services at accessible price points are about to have their time to shine. In fact - I just launched a content-on-demand offer that I’m so stoked for!

But here's what I'm actually doing to prepare (because thats cool and everything, but action is cooler):

Backend Boss Moves:

  • Updating T&Cs and privacy policies (boring but necessary) - Shoutout to Braden Drake(aff link) for making this affordable and easy

  • Finding a new cookie plugin because mine's ghosting small businesses 🙄

  • Auditing ALL my social bios (when's the last time you did this?)

  • Finally updating LinkedIn projects (we all should, let's be real)

  • Deep cleaning my affiliate portal and checkout pages

  • Testing every. single. button. on my website (you'd be surprised...)

Strategic Prep:

  • Mapping out Q1 launch dates (with rough plans for Q2-4)

  • Creating new email templates (I just moved to beehiiv (aff link) from Kit and I love it here!)

  • Setting up better tracking systems

  • Making space for experimental marketing (because why not try something new?)

Here's the thing – this preparation stuff? It's not sexy, but it's what sets you up for actual success. While everyone else is scrambling in January, you could be hitting 'go' on your first campaign. You’ve got a few days until that lull between Christmas and New Years and that’s enough time to do all that. Trust!

Speaking of which... if you want help mapping out your 2025 strategy (and actually implementing it), the Conversion Catalyst Club is where it's at. We're going to be planning Q1 strategies and setting ourselves up for success.

Here's to making 2025 your best year yet (for real though),
